Presidential Post - December 15, 2013

Stacie Lovan 350It's hard to believe that it is December and 2014 is right around the corner! As you are entrenched in preparations for holiday events, family activities, and end-of-the-year prospect activities, remember to take a few minutes to reflect on your successes in 2013 and identify new initiatives you would like to implement in your community next year. As an economic development professional, you are the community's cheerleader. It is your responsibility to celebrate the year's successes and to set the stage for the direction of your organization in the upcoming year. It is easy to get buried in the details of day-to-day activities, so I challenge all of us to set aside some time in the next month to celebrate, brainstorm and strategize.

Last week, you should have received your 2014 PDI dues notices. The format is a little different this year as we are providing you with the opportunity to pay for the 2014 Spring and Fall Conference with your dues. We have heard from some members that this would ease their paperwork and payment processing. Please take advantage of this opportunity if it works for you. We will still need you to complete a conference registration form at a later time to identify your session preferences and activity participation. Unfortunately, we are unable to include the option to pay for add-on conference activities at this time.

The PDI offices will be closed December 24-27 for Christmas and December 31 - January 1 for New Year's. The office will be open December 23 and 30 to process any end-of-year payments for those who prefer to pay their PDI dues before year-end. Please call our awesome Executive Director, Lynn Harkin, if you have any questions regarding year-end payments.

Have a magical Christmas and New Year! See you in 2014!
